It is excellent for helping to alleviate back, neck and shoulder tensions, release stress and anxiety, headache, allergies, depression, and more. Increases your energy levels, improves your immune system and your health. Clients can experience a deep release that allows the body-mind to resonate in a peaceful relaxed state, discovering a genuine state of well-being. Reiki (pronounced “ray key”) is a universal life energy used by practitioners for healing by the simple act of touch. It is a completely non-invasive therapy and applies no forceful pressure to the body or manipulation of the limbs. The client (if he/she is physically able) lies down on a table or mat and is fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner uses a combination of hand positions that channel the energy from the practitioner to the client. Reiki works through the energy centers of the body, balancing the energy flow and creating the optimum conditions for well being. Reiki can be used with any condition. However, it is NOT to be used as a substitute for traditional medical care. It is a complementary form of medicine. It is recognized by the National Institute of Health and is used as a complementary therapy by many cancer institutes. Some hospice programs also offer this therapy to both the client and caregivers that they service. Reiki can boost the immune system thus helping the patient heal themselves.
This form of bodywork, also known as Thai Yoga Massage, Nuad Boran and Thai Yoga Therapy, is an ancient form of therapeutic healing. Thai Bodywork has its roots in India. From there, it was brought to Thailand over 2000 years ago by Ayurvedic doctors and Buddhist monks. It combines acupressure, energy balancing, stretching, and applied yoga exercises. Traditional Thai Yoga massage is a unique and powerful massage therapy. A session is a flowing dialog between client and practitioner, similar to a dance or martial arts form. The client is passive and completely supported by the therapist in several yoga poses. In many cases, the client can experience the benefit of poses that would be difficult to achieve unassisted. Clients that have an active yoga practice often find that a regular Thai Bodywork session enhances their practice, allows them to stretch and open more quickly and avoid injury. Thai yoga therapy has many benefits including: stress and pain relief, better resistance to injury, improved range of motion, release of lactic acid and other toxins from the body, toning of internal organs and deep relaxation.
